About the Recipe

This year go the extra mile for Thanksgiving or Christmas and make a homemade cranberry sauce. You can either make this Thanksgiving side dish ahead of time or the day of. Making this side dish recipe will be a great way to share love and happiness this Thanksgiving or Christmas!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup or 250ml orange juice

  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 16 oz or 1 lb cranberries

  • Zest of half an orange

  • Dash of salt and pepper

Preparation

1. To a high sided sauce pan add the orange juice, brown and granulated sugar.   Turn your burner to medium heat and stir until the sugar has dissolved.


2. Add the cranberries, mix, cover and bring to a simmer over medium to high heat cook for 10 minutes until most berries have popped.   Remove the lid, add the orange zest, salt and pepper. Simmer over low heat for roughly 5 minutes until the sauce has slightly thickened.


3. Pour into a serving bowl, cover, refrigerate until cool.
