About the Recipe

Go all out for Thanksgiving or Christmas and make a homemade loaded cranberry sauce. Bring joy and delight to your holiday feast by loading up an easy to make cranberry sauce with a few secrete ingredients. Making this side dish recipe will be a great way to share love and happiness this Thanksgiving or Christmas!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup or 125ml orange juice

  • 3/4 cup of light brown sugar

  • 16 oz or 1 lb cranberries

  • 1/2 cup or 125ml tawny port

  • 1/2 tsp allspice

  • 1/2 cup dehydrated blue berries

  • Zest of half an orange

  • Half an apple diced

  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Preparation

1. To a high sided sauce pan add the orange juice and brown sugar.  Heat over medium heat, stir and dissolve the sugar.

2. Add the cranberries, mix and bring to a simmer, cover and cook for roughly 10 minutes until the majority of berries have popped.

3. Remove the lid , add tawny port, allspice, dehydrated blueberries, zest of ½ an orange, diced apple, salt and a dash of pepper.  Mix and bring to a light simmer and reduce until thick – roughly 5 minutes.

4. Pour into a serving bowl, cover and refrigerate until cool.
